How can I upload orders or other files to the new system via FTP/SFTP?

Once you have changed the connection of your production system to the MVB platform on 21 June 2023, the process for sending orders or other files and collecting responses will generally remain the same.

To send a new file via FTP or SFTP, you will need to:
  1. connect to the system with your username and password,
  2. upload the desired file to the root folder.

Please make sure to check and change the variables in your implementation, e.g. FTP URLs, usernames and passwords, where applicable.

How can I download order files, confirmations or other order responses via FTP?

To collect any documents from your mailbox via FTP, you will be able to adapt your existing workflow, which will consist of:
  1. connect to the system with your username and password
  2. upload a mailbox.cmd file (a trigger file containing a single line of EDIFACT code)
  3. download the resulting net.ack file (containing all documents ready for collection in a concatenated form).

The Nielsen servers required a release trigger file in specific circumstances before sending the mailbox.cmd file. This is no longer required or supported.

Please be aware: the mailbox.cmd trigger file needs to end in a .cmd extension to be recognized by the MVB system. Please check the filename of this trigger file and rename it accordingly.
Please make sure to check and change the variables in your implementation, e.g. name of the mailbox.cmd trigger file, FTP URLs, usernames and passwords in script code, etc.

How can I download order confirmations or other order responses via SFTP?

When using SFTP to download orders, confirmations, and other order responses, you will have two options:
  1. connect to the system with your username and password,
  2. use the same mailbox.cmd and net.ack process (described in the FTP section),
  3. alternatively, navigate to the “New” folder on the SFTP site,
  4. collect all files from the “New” folder, which will contain individual documents (only accessible via SFTP).

The “New” and other virtual folders are only accessible using SFTP.

I use FTP/SFTP Push/Pull – will this be moved to the new system?

Any existing FTP/SFTP Pull setups, where the Teleordering system picks up and delivers documents to and from your FTP/SFTP site, will be migrated and configured to the new MVB platform. We will use the existing usernames and passwords unless it was agreed to change the setup during the testing phase.
If you will be moving to a new FTP/STP Pull setup with the system cutover, please make sure to finish your setup and provide the necessary credentials to ServiceMigrationUK@mvb-online.com before 20 June.

Where can I find help texts, tutorials, or other information on how to use the new platform?
